Pests

People can be so mean on the train.

In my story The Outcast, I describe how my so-called “friends” on the train won’t let me sit with them.

Have you ever received the cold shoulder by people on the train? If you try to sit next to them, they tell you they are saving the seat for a friend. Or if you try to engage them in friendly conversation, they ignore your witty observations. Or if you try reading over their shoulder, they say, indignantly, “Do you mind?”

Please share your own stories of rejection, or, if you wish, share tips on how to gently (or not so gently) reject those who are little more than pests.
